| So rightly or wrongly I chose DotNetNuke to host this web site - it's very flexible and very powerful, but somewhat costly to host and some of the basic functionality needed (paid) upgrades to be really useful.
The truth is I'm stuck with it now...I've invested several hundred pounds in the software, licenses and hosting fees, not counting my time to build it and get to know the quirks etc...
The "What's new?" module in DotnetNuke is one of its greatest weaknesses - given the vital role that the module does in creating site traffic, it's unbelieveable that it's not been updated since 2006 and that there are NO better versions released by anyone else.
Unfortunately, whilst the RSS feed option is already enabled for the What's New feed, the module appears to be broken and will not register the feed for subscriptions. I've not noticed this before... :(
I'll have a go at reloading the module and I've even downloaded the source code to see if any of it makes any sense to me (unlikely!!).
So the feedback is that this doesn't look like it's going to work any time soon...sorry. | | | |
